Who We Work For

Different jobs need different certainty. Here's how we plug into yours — and what a locate is actually protecting in each case.

General Contractors & Developers

You carry the risk for everything that happens on the site, including a sub's mistake. A pre-mobilization private locate and QL-B designation clears the pad before anyone's bucket is in the air, and gives you documentation showing you exercised due diligence if a claim ever comes.

Typical scope: full-site designation, mapped deliverable, potholing at critical crossings, COI and additional insured.

Excavation & Utility Contractors

Your operator can't see through dirt, and the 811 marks stop at the meter. We clear the private side ahead of the trench so a bad afternoon doesn't become a gas emergency, a fiber invoice with five zeros, or a fatality.

Typical scope: private locates on standing account, trench-line designation, same-day and emergency response.

Civil Engineers & Surveyors

You need utility data you can put your seal near. We deliver ASCE 38-22 quality-level work — QL-B designation surveyed to project control, QL-A test holes at the conflicts that matter — attributed and formatted to drop straight into your base file.

Typical scope: QL-D through QL-A investigations, CAD/GIS deliverables, conflict matrices, utility coordination support.

Telecom, Fiber & Broadband

Long linear routes, aggressive schedules and directional bores that don't get a second chance. We designate continuously along the alignment and stake the conflicts before the drill head moves, then map it against your stationing.

Typical scope: route designating, bore-path clearance, potholing at crossings, as-built mapping of the new build.

Solar, Wind & Renewables

Utility-scale sites mean thousands of pile locations across land with a century of undocumented agricultural drainage, abandoned wellheads and old service runs. We sweep the array footprint before pile driving turns a surprise into downtime.

Typical scope: large-acreage sweeps, pile-location clearing, collection-route designating, GIS deliverables.

Facilities, Campuses & Property Managers

Schools, hospitals, industrial parks, HOAs and municipal complexes almost always have the same problem: forty years of additions and not one current drawing. We map the whole site once and hand your team a GIS record they can maintain and hand to every future contractor.

Typical scope: full campus mapping programs, as-built creation, phased annual updates, O&M documentation.

Municipalities & Public Works

Roadway widening, drainage improvements and water and wastewater rehab all run into the same wall — record drawings that don't match the field. SUE investigation early in design costs a fraction of what a discovered conflict costs during construction.

Typical scope: corridor SUE investigations, QL-B/QL-A packages, conflict analysis, record-drawing reconciliation.

Environmental & Due Diligence

Phase I and Phase II work where you need to confirm whether there's a tank, a drain field or an abandoned fuel system on a parcel before somebody buys it. GPR and EM find the infrastructure that never made it into the file.

Typical scope: UST and tank searches, drain field delineation, boring clearance, site characterization support.

Homeowners

Pools, fences, decks, tree removal, additions, septic work and irrigation repair all happen on the private side of the meter — the exact side 811 members will not mark. It's your property, which means it's your liability and your repair bill.

Typical scope: residential private locate, sewer camera and sonde, septic locating, flat half-day pricing.

Pool Builders & Landscape Contractors

You dig on residential property every week, on ground nobody has ever mapped, next to gas runs and pool bonding installed by whoever came before you. A locate is cheap insurance against a job that turns into a repair you eat.

Typical scope: pre-dig private locates, irrigation and low-voltage tracing, standing-account pricing.

The Math

What A Strike Actually Costs

The repair invoice is the part everyone thinks about. It is rarely the expensive part.

Direct repair Emergency crews, materials and after-hours rates set by the utility, not by you.
Downtime Your crew and equipment idle while the site is shut down and the line is made safe.
Third-party claims Businesses and residents cut off from power, water or fiber, and the losses they bill back.
Safety Struck gas and high-voltage lines injure and kill people. That's the one you can't invoice.

A private locate is typically a few hundred dollars on a residential site and a small line item on a commercial one. Every excavator who has hit a fiber trunk can tell you exactly what the other side of that equation looks like.
